Lou
and Alainna- Pledge Day 2007 |
I can’t think of anyone that is a better friend than “my best friend Lou.” I can’t believe it has taken me this long to nominate her for Girl with the Arrow. Growing up and being my best friend was not an easy job. I’m moody, demanding and somewhat annoying, and even with all of my imperfections my best friend stood by me the whole way. Lou is the one that got me through high school; she was and is always there when I need her. If I called her at 3 in the morning she would be there by 3:15 trying to calm me down. Little did she know there would be many more nights of those phone calls.
When Lou first said she was going to Muskingum to play soccer I was blamed for pressuring her, however it was Lou’s decision and I couldn’t be happier that she chose Muskieland. Lou played soccer her first year and then realized she had so much more to accomplish while at Muskingum. So once pledging came around I knew she would make the right decision (however there were a few nights of me crying in fear she would be pressured to go elsewhere…but that’s what I do). But Lou fit in perfect in Kianu.
When I think of everything that Kianu stands for…those exact same words could be used to describe “my best friend Lou.” She is truly the definition of a best friend. She is there when you need her even before you ask for help. She’s patient not only with me, but all those around her. I mean she’s family…literally. My parents treat her as if she were their own, just a taller version. For example our cleaning person at The Fieldhouse quit and who is the one who volunteers to help my parents out...Lou. She cleaned the Fieldhouse for six months, not because she needed the money, but because she saw how stressed out my parents were.
In high school if you would have told me Lou would be working in Columbus at some fancy adult like job I would have laughed right in your face (only because Lou was the one that would get us lost in Columbus every time we would go and who on occasion would end up turning ON to an OFF ramp). I could go on forever about how wonderful and out of control “my best friend Lou” is, but for those of you who know her know exactly how wonderful and crazy she is.
Lou has grown up so much in the past six years and I am so proud of who she has become. She went from hiding under RVs, to selling loans, and now she is a wedding planner. I have shared more with Lou than really a person should…from fights in driveways, to a flipped over wave runner and even boyfriends (don’t ask). She’s so much more than just a best friend, she’s the one I call to cry, to laugh and now talk taxes with, but in the end she will always be “MY BEST FRIEND LOU” because without her I truly don’t know where I would be today. God brings people into your life for a reason…and I will continue to thank God daily for bringing Lee Ann Quinn into mine. Thanks Lou… I love you!
Love in XAN and mine,
