I would like to nominate web designer and purple and gold bleeder, Ruth Sara Connell (class of 1998) for the February "Girl with the Arrow" spotlight honor. Not only did Ruth design and implement our fabulous, highly popular, Kianu website, but she is also the individual responsible for its upkeep, all the while serving as a sort of "watch dog" for any suspicious activity. Ruth has been die-hard Kianu before she was even a Kianu by pledging. She keeps updated on life at Muskingum via her subscription to the "Black and Magenta," where she learns of and expresses interest in the goings-on of the current active women of Chi Alpha Nu. While many of us SAY that we're devoted alumnae, Ruth SHOWS that she is indeed a loyal Kianu alum. She regularly posts messages to our yahoo web group and encourages others to take part in conversations. Ruth always has a blurb in the biannual Chi Alpha Nu newsletter and returns for special activities at Muskingum whenever possible. Ruth has a full-time library position at Valparaiso University in Indiana, obviously lives in Valparaiso, spends her free time making new friends, traveling to see old ones, and running in a variety of races. In other words, Ruth has a busy, full life, just like the rest of us, but she still manages to find time to remember her "roots" in Chi Alpha Nu. Ruth leads by example. I'm very proud to call Ruth Connell a Kianu sister, but most importantly, I'm proud to call her my friend!!
