Taylor Beilharz '14

My name is Taylor Beilharz. I am from Brookville, Ohio (near Dayton). I am a sophomore transfer student. My hobbies are hanging out with my friends, watching sports and anything that involves having a good time. I'm all about smiling and having fun :) My major is Psychology.
I joined Kianu because I wanted to be a part of something at Muskingum other than just academics. I knew that Kianu was right for me because I felt at home right away. Kianu always welcomed me and made me feel like I fit in perfectly. I couldn't imagine myself in any other club. Choosing Chi Alpha Nu was the best decision I have made since I came to Muskingum.

Hobbies: Hanging out with family and friends, shopping, country music, jet skiing, water skiing & working.
Major: At this time I am undecided but I’m looking into biology or neuroscience.

Why did I join Kianu?
Well from the first pre-rush party I went to, the Kianu girls were all so friendly, sweet and welcoming and didn‘t make me feel like I was just another underclassman. Before I knew it, I was hanging out with many of them, texting them, writing on their facebook walls, going over to the Kianu house frequently, and I felt like I was at home. During rush week, I tried to keep an open mind about everything. Although, on the last day of parties, my final party was Kianu, and I saw just how close all the girls were with each other and how much this sorority meant to all of them. After Olivia Maniaci read me her letter, I cried like everyone else and I knew this was where I wanted to be. I am so thankful to call all these girls my sisters, and I’m so happy with the choice I made. Go Kianu! <3

My hometown is Cambridge, Ohio
My hobbies are track, listening to music, I could draw and paint for hours, and shopping. Whenever I have the time and money I really enjoy interior design projects as well.
I'm a business major and a psychology minor
I pledged Kianu for a few reasons. I grew up with three brothers and have always wanted to know what it's like to have sisters. I love being a part of a family on campus. Also since day one the Kianu girls have always made me feel at home.

Hometown -- Grove City, Ohio
Hobbies -- playing soccer, drawing, snowboarding, listening to music, hanging with friends
Major -- special needs education
Why I joined--
The decision for me to join Kianu wasn't easy at first. I debated for a really long time where I should go and where I could call home. During the final rush party Nicole Shuck read me my letter, and things she said just made sense. Every time I walked into the Kianu house I always felt at home. It just amazed me how everyone could be so different but could come together as one and show the same amount of passion for one thing! I know I found my home in Kianu.

Hometown: Painesville, OH
Hobbies: Scrapbooking, shopping, and just being an all around crafty person
Major: Early Childhood Education

What made me pledge Kianu?
Well from the very beginning I knew I wanted to pledge a sorority, and make sure it was somewhere I felt at home and welcome. The first time I walked into the Kianu house I felt like I already belonged there. The girls were just all so sweet and I knew one day I wanted to be able to call them all my sisters. On the night of the last rush party I went in there pretty sure I had my mind made up. As Alexis Allen read me my letter and we both cried I knew for sure that Kianu was indeed the home for me. I love every single one of these girls and could not be happier. :)

Hometown: Granville, OH
Major: Psychology/Pre-OT
Minor: English
Hobbies: Hanging out with friends, listening to music, being active
I pledged Kianu because I felt like I belonged there. All the girls were so nice and genuine, and I felt at home. I originally decided to rush only because one of my friends was going to, but after going to all the parties and spending all week with the Kianus, I knew Chi Alpha Nu was the right sorority for me.

Hobbies: Jet skiing, swimming, shopping, scrapbooking and cleaning

Why did I pledge Kianu?
I pledged Kianu for so many reasons. The most important and biggest reason was because of the girls. There all so amazing and unique. The first time I went to the house, I was so nervous. All the girls were so nice and eager to get to know me, I felt so welcomed. Every time I walked into the Kianu house everyone would be smiling and hugging me. I also think purple and gold are really cute together. Rush week wasn't a hard decision for me because I already had my heart set on the place I wanted to be. So on the last night of parties as Taylor read my letter (as we balled our eyes out together) I knew the Kianu house was a home for me. <3

I'm Tia Nicholson and my hometown is New Concord, Ohio. I'm going to Muskingum University for art education. My hobbies are drawing, crocheting and pretty much anything craft related.

The reason I pledged Kianu was because the girls were all so nice and they sincerely wanted you there. They took the time to get to know me and my other pledge sisters. Even with only knowing them for a couple weeks now I can't imagine not seeing or wanting to spend time with the Kianu girls.

I am from Dublin. I like to read, play softball, and be crafty. I am currently undecided on a major.

From the moment I arrived at Muskingum, Chi Alpha Nu was at the top of my list. It was the first sorority I got to know. My roommate always told me we would both be Kianus but I told her I had to keep my options open. Who knew she'd be right! I ended up pledging Kianu because it is simply the place for me. I have gotten to know and love all the actives. I always felt at home and welcome at the XAN house. I am so glad I ended up being a pledge to Chi Alpha Nu because the club fits me perfectly. I was excited to pledge here and I am pretty sure I will be excited for the next three years!

Mary Ellen Smith '14

My hometown is Hebron, Ohio
I played soccer for 12 years and I have run track for 5. I am on Muskingum's track team.
My major is Physical Therapy and my minor is Spanish.
I pledged Kianu because I was more comfortable here than anywhere else. I knew a lot of girls in other sororities but it didn't matter because I felt like Kianu was where I was supposed to be. They made me feel wanted and were all so nice. When I went to Kianu parties the members were all open and easy to talk to. Everyone made an effort to talk to me and get to know me. I didn't feel like it was fake; I felt it was genuine. The feeling of being wanted was a big factor in my decision. And I don't regret it at all.
