I would like to nominate Susan Melhorn (2004) for The Girl With the Arrow for this month. I am embarrassed that I haven't nominated Susan yet because since the very first time I met her, she has exemplified what a true sister is. Susan and I actually met briefly back in high school, and ended up on the same floor in Thomas Hall our freshman year at Muskingum. We became friends quickly and going through rush and pledging together showed me the loyalty, honesty, and generosity that Susan has always possessed. Four years at Muskingum can bring many good times as well as those that are rough. Through everything, Susan has always been the kind of friend you could depend on. I have shared as many smiles, laughs, and tears with Susan as I have my "real" sister.

Leaving Muskingum and Kianu was difficult, but knowing that my very best friend and my forever "Roomie" would be hours away was the hardest. Susan just continues to go on and tackle any task put ahead of her. She is currently working in a Ph.D. program at the University of Cincinnati in areas of science that I could never understand :). No matter what difficulties she faces, her determination and pure strength of character will carry her through. I don't think she realizes just how much many others, including myself, admire her dedication and kindness. She is one of those women who you have the utmost respect for. She deserves all the good things that can possibly come her way because she has worked her entire life for them!! Good Luck Roomie!!!
