Shirley Kimmel Wagner, Class of 1951, is an excellent choice for this month's Girl with the Arrow. Shirley has served her community and Muskingum College since graduation in countless ways, and will always be incredibly proud of her Kianu roots, too!
Shirley dedicates her time and talents to serve others and her contributions are many:
- She is a longtime patron of the Philharmonic Orchestra
- She sponsors two scholarships for students from New Philadelphia who attend Muskingum College
- She is the founder of the Guy O. Kimmel Scholarship (named for her father) which currently benefits five students
- She is a member of Muskingum's Alumni Council
- She is a volunteer at the New Philadelphia Library
I've been so blessed to know and work with Shirley. She is a tireless supporter of her Alma Mater and she has a heart of gold (and purple!).
Shirley recently received the Distinguished Service Award from Muskingum at the June Alumni Weekend Banquet. I'm sure the Girl with the Arrow honor would mean just as much to her.
