Heidi

I met Heidi Fought (who was a junior at the time) while I was pledging. We both lived on 3rd floor Mem and she helped me stay motivated during pledging and also for the horrible political science class we both took. Heidi was also friends with a boy who I later started dating and am getting married to later this year. Heidi played a big part in getting us two together and that is something I will always be grateful to her for. When Adam and I were deciding who we wanted in our wedding party, there as no doubt we wanted Heidi to stand in our wedding because of the friend she has been to both of us through the years. I know I can always count on Heidi to offer a listening ear and great advice, she would drop everything to be there for a friend. She can always put a smile on my face, cheer me on during a rough time, and most importantly talk me out of doing something really stupid. Heidi would never expect to be recognized for being a great friend, to her she does these things because she cares. And that is the most important reason she deserves this spotlight.

My nomination is not as eloquent as Jen's, but I am nominating Heidi for the same reason, she has been a good friend to me for years. We both lived in the house our senior year, and stayed awake talking many nights. I admire Heidi for many reasons, including that she has overcome adversity and is a very strong woman. This strength sometimes translates to differences of opinion, so Heidi and I often have good debates. The year after we graduated from Muskingum, we both lived in Columbus, Ohio and hung out a lot then. She was rooming with Heather Worthen that year, and I always went over to their apartment to watch Friends on Thursday nights. In fact, I usually fell asleep on their floor. I moved away in 1999, and miss hanging out with Heidi. I still get to talk to her on the phone, but it's not the same as Triominos :). I treasure Heidi's friendship and advice.
