Girl with the Arrow
Sheets (October 2004)
Kianu Alumna- Class of 1999
like to nominate Michele Sheets '99 for the October '04 Girl with the Arrow. Michele truly knows the meaning of
Kianu and demonstrates it during her everyday life as an active member of a
campus community at Ashland University. I know many of my peers experienced
college with Michele as their resident advisor or resident director. Those skills
and qualities which she developed in MC's Residence Halls have traveled with
her since her graduation in 1999. Michele has taken the Kianu spirit with her
to the Campus Communities of Loyola of Chicago where she earned her Master's
Degree, John Carroll and now Ashland as where she just assumed the duty of Director
of Residence Life. Michele, with her caring demeanor and upbeat personality,
has been a positive influence on hundreds, if not thousands, of college students.
She genuinely cares about everyone that she knows and meets and always has time
for you. It is her nature to help people out without ever uttering a complaint.
On a personal level, she has traveled to cry with me, celebrate with me, help
me move, and showed me the type of person I could only hope to be. Even though
those things just relate to me, I know many other Kianus have shared similar
personal experiences with this dynamic alum. She is a role model by her demonstration
of the qualities that we, as Kianus, have so much pride in and has effectively
used these qualities to set an example beyond the Kianu House and the Muskingum
College Campus. I am so I am so proud to be able to call her my friend but am
even prouder to be able to call her my sister.
Love in XAN & Mine,
Jamie (Farmer) Kornokovich '01
