Hannah Bailey (2021)

Sydney Bash (2021)

Hometown: New Concord, OH
Interests/Activities: Kianu and psych club
Academic Focus: Psychology and Criminal Justice double major

I pledged Kianu because I have multiple Kianu alums in my life whom I love dearly. I went to high school with Carly Palmer (active) who I also love dearly. I felt like the girls in XAN were the most friendly, welcoming & personable out of the other sororities during rush week so it already felt like home!

Katie Bodenmiller (2021)

Hometown: Casstown, OH
Interests/Activities: I play soccer here at Muskingum, when at home I often volunteer at Miami Valley Hospital, and I watch Food Network like it's my job.
Academic Focus: Health and Fitness major

I joined Kianu because I wanted to find a group of strong and caring people I could call family when here at school, and away from home. I definitely feel like I have found that, and feel at home.

Abby Brooker (2021)

Hometown: Marietta, OH
Interests/Activities: MU cheerleading, yoga, traveling, antiquing, and cooking
Academic Focus: Major is Nursing and minors are Psychology, Human Biology, and Nutrition

I pledged Kianu because after receiving my Open Bid I instantly felt like a part of the family, everyone was so welcoming and I never felt out of place. My first year at Muskingum was very tough and I questioned whether I would come back or not but I'm surely glad I did. The memories, sisterhood, and friendships I've made over the past year are absolutely irreplaceable and hold such a special place in my heart.

Jasmira Brown (2020)

Hometown: Zanesville OH
Academic Focus: major is Athletic Training

I pledged Kianu because the girls were super nice and made me feel welcome from the very first party. They are all so caring and I know that if I ever need anything, I can go to any of them for advice and they will be there with no hesitations.

Mary Double (2021)

Bailey Fialkovich (2021)

Cieanna Jones (2021)

Hometown: Pickerington, OH
Interests/Activities: making crafts, cheerleading, and playing lacrosse
Academic Focus: Major is Criminal Justice and minor is Sociology

I chose Kianu not just to have a other family away from home, but I love the honesty and trust that the club brings and I feel so much that I can be myself and not feel out of place. Before I came to Muskingum I only knew a few people. I did not have a lot of friends; I was not a social butterfly at all. When I joined Kianu it helped me to come out of my shell and actually helped me to communicate and stop being so shy. Now it has improved my communication skills and I am happy to feel comfortable on campus. I love Kianu and I enjoy being a nookie!!!!

Hannah Matheney (2021)

Erin McConnell (2020)

Hometown: Johnstown, OH
Interests/Activities: playing softball, working out, listening to music, and hanging out with friends
Academic Focus: Majors are Health and Fitness & Physical Education. Minor is Psychology

I pledged Kianu because I felt that I could be myself and no one would judge me. It gave me something to look forward to at the end of the day. It is my home! The ladies of Chi Alpha Nu welcomed me with open arms and I am forever thankful for every single one of them.

Maysen Moorehead (2021)

Hometown: Kennesaw, GA
Interests/Activities: online shopping, binge-watching Gossip Girl, baking, and spending time with friends and family
Academic Focus: Majors are Criminal Justice and Political Science with a pre-law minor

I pledged Kianu because from the moment I stepped on campus, the girls with the letters "XAN" on their shirts were the ones with smiles on their faces and the most welcoming. It was the way that they held themselves that made me look up to them and want to be a part of their organization. So, when I went to one of the pre-recruitment parties and got to meet some of the girls, I knew that Kianu was home. I was so adamant about being a Kianu that I wore a purple top at the very first day of recruitment.

Alexis (Lexi) Pyers (2021)

Hometown: Cambridge, Ohio
Interests/Activities: I play soccer and lacrosse and I absolutely love painting, hammocking, hiking and listening to music!
Academic Focus: Chemistry major

I pledged Kianu because I met quite a few of them from playing soccer, like Steph Siwicki. Little did I know, she would later become my big and mean so much more to me then when I first met her! This club was full of girls who were so friendly and kind and drop dead gorgeous! I looked up to a lot of them before I even joined. I'm so glad I have found my home here at Kianu and I honestly wouldn't change it for the world!

Zoey Stenson (2021)

Hometown: New Lexington, Ohio
Interests/Activities: Scrapbooking, theatre and art, playing the ukulele, watching the sunset, geo-caching, watching marvel movies, tweeting, and bowling, and making people smile :)
Academic Focus: Majors- History, Business, Minors- Economics, Art

When I came to college and started a new part of my life I knew that I couldn't do it alone, so I went through recruitment to meet more people and I was so blessed to find my forever home in Kianu. What stuck out to me when I was going through recruitment was that the Kianu girls were so active in talking to me and getting to know me and genuinely interested in becoming my friend. What really sold me was surprising me with a letter, written and read by my mom [Jennifer McKinney], a 1996 Kianu alum, on the last night of recruitment week. My mom had always talked about her XAN memories and I had always seen pictures and I had always wanted to be a part of something like it, but I had never imagined I would be lucky enough to get to pledge XAN. This little gesture meant so much to me and I knew that these girls really cared about me and wanted me to be their sister. The Kianu girls went above and beyond to show how much they really cared about not only each other, but about me, a freshman who they had just met. On Friday night of recruitment with tears streaming down my face and hugging my mom I knew that I was literally Kianu born and Kianu bred. These girls welcomed me with arms wide open and made me not only feel wanted, but that I belonged to a family that would be there with me through every smile and tear, every party and prayer. Plus purple and gold are some pretty great colors.

Madison Woolard (2021)

Hometown: Coshocton, Ohio
Interests/Activities: reading a lot, riding horses, watching lots of baseball, and I have a deep love for all things makeup
Academic Focus: I plan on double majoring in Business and Marketing with a Criminal Justice minor

I pledged Kianu because I've never felt so at home with a group of girls. From saying hi to me on the quad and talking to girls at events, I knew that this club was full of caring, fun girls who could help make my journey here at Muskingum even better. I could tell Kianu would give me friendships and so many opportunities for memories with great people. The women of Chi Alpha Nu have showed me that you don't have to be blood to be sisters and I've never been a part of such an amazing support system.
